Episode 4 is Now Live!

The title is pretty self explanatory.  We just released episode 4 in which we discuss the 90s and everything that made it great... well great for us at least.  Stop by and have a listen if you want to hear a blast from the past.

Episode 4

I Bought a Book

This past weekend Beef and I went to a book signing in Phoenix, Arizona where we got to meet WWE Superstar Daniel Bryan.  Beef and I have been huge wrestling fans the majority of our lives, and being big fans of Bryan made this a gigantic honor.  It was a brief encounter but one I will hopefully remember my entire life.

Harry Potter Gets Horny

Recently Panda, Beef, and myself watched the movie Horns staring Daniel Radcliffe.  I thought it was an enjoyable movie but definitely had a few issuesA brief plot synopsis; Daniel Radcliffe plays Ig Perrish, a man who's girlfriend was just murdered and he is the prime suspect.  The entire town believes he is guilty but Ig swears he is innocent and vows to find the real killer.  After desecrating a religious memorial for his deceased girlfriend because god abandoned her, Ig wakes up the next morning with horns on his forehead.  He quickly finds that these horns give him supernatural powers of persuasion and every person he comes across reveals their darkest desires to him.  From here, Ig and his group of childhood friends set out to find Merrin's real killer to and clear Ig's name.
I really enjoyed this movie, despite its flaws.  The acting was a mixed bag.  Radcliffe, Juno Temple, and Joe Anderson give amazing performances.  Many of the other performances range from underwhelming to completely over the top.  Without getting into spoilers, when the main villain is finally revealed, they become cartoonishly evil to the point where they might as well be twirling a mustache while tying a woman to a train tracks.  There is one line he has that completely took me out of the experience but I probably shouldn't repeat it on here.
The overall plot was fun and actually kept me interested the entire way through.  My only real complaint would be how cheesy the final confrontation is, but I would expect no less.  The story is a mix of serious drama mixed with cheese that could take a few viewers out of the experience.  However, I decided to embrace the corny moments and accept the movie for what it was.  If you are able to do the same, I think you'll have a fun journey in which Harry Potter grows horns, controls snakes, and has a hot red head girlfriend... or you could just watch Half-Blood Prince again.
